My First Blog

Okay so I've just returned from my fabulous FETC conference in Orlando where I learned about 10 trillion cool ways to use technology to make teaching more exciting and manageable. I spent all day yesterday just playing with iGoogle. I'm not kidding, hours were lost searching and exploring the cool gadgets and features that I never knew existed. I had set up a gmail account long ago(mjw015@gmail.com) but never realized the potential of the storing files in googledocs, managing my calendar, and visiting one site to quickly check everything from my email, facebook, weather, local concerts, movie, netflix, news, etc. So now rather than jumping all over the web I just see it in my home. That will definitely save time. I am posting many other cool sites to Del.ic.ious account ( ImaginEngine) and am about to go explore them. Hope I don't get lost in cyber world for hours like yesterday but if I do, oh well, it is a rainy day and I have a cold.
I'm not sure how I'm going to use this blog yet but so many speakers (including the amazing 12 year old genius) really encouraged it. I think I will begin by using it as a way to store my thoughts about the things I learned for my professional development. That way at least I know one person will read it. Hi Debbie!

  1. Thanks for including me in this. As you navigate igoggle, send ideas my way. I had an goggle account, but I lost my password and now am locked out, which is the sort of cyber-experiences I tend to have, spending time and then forgetting the key!
